By far the best way to arrive in Settle is by train, there is a good service from the north and Leeds is just 1 hour to the south. The scenery is stunning and the station is delightful, with dramatic views and a welcome coal fire in the waiting room.

The town is really just a large village, with a great selection of pubs and a couple of good restaurants. A short walk over the River Ribble is the delightfully sleepy village of Giggleswick. Here you can catch a train to the nostalgic seaside town of Morecambe.

Settle is the perfect place to be enjoyed without you car, the pretty market square has every convenience, whilst the famous Settle to Carlisle line takes you further a field into the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
